Bulk wine transportation

Wine can be transported in two ways, Inside bottles or in huge tanks or bladders. Wine which is produced in countries far away like Chili or Australia is mostly transported in big tanks or bladders. The wine is transported to a bottler abroad where it gets bottled and distributed again. This method has some advantages, a bladder can contain 24 000 l, where the same container can only contain 10 584 l of bottled wine. Which means that the transportation cost is cut dramatically and the carbon emissions, in some cases up to 50%. This method of transportation wasn’t very popular because of the quality loss during transportation, but new technologies made it possible to transport wine without any quality loss.
