Ireland exports up to 152,000 tonnes of butter each year. However Kerrygold, being the biggest manufacturer in Ireland, quoted only 2,000 tonnes is sold locally.

International exports include Britain 65%, Holland 15%, Belgium 15% and Germany 5%.

At this stage of the process it’s clear how the perpetual motion of the system is perfectly timed, as each delivery to the port was only collected from the farm between 48 and 72 hours previously.
