Life:
While refrigerated, butter as a product can keep for up to 9 months, with that being reduced to 6 weeks once opened. However this can only be achieved if the product is kept chilled to 4°C to prevent microorganisms multiplying.
Death:
Disposing of dairy products in drains is a criminal offence for businesses, dairy products should be disposed of in composting waste or collected by authorised transporters.
At this point only 20% of dairy products are used as a bio gas fuel in approved plants.
Recycled packaging should be compacted into dense 3 - 4 cm balls of aluminium to ensure the recycling plant can allocate them appropriately.
