Raw milk storage
Storage tanks that can hold and chill up to 10,000 litres of milk are located as close to the milking parlour as possible. This creates an efficient system that can cope with the demand from factories and companies, which pressure the farmers into processes to keep up with the factories.
It is here where technology is used to maximise efficiency from the cooling tanks that are constantly being redeveloped, in order to speed up the chill time and reduce water and energy consumption.
Tanks are cleaned by either constantly boiling water and circulating the system, or the more common method, of warming the water and mixing it with chlorine to disinfect the machine for the next batch.
