TULIPBunching Machine
The tulip bunching machine represents the majority of the tulip processing stages. Each machine is monitored by 3 people. Previously 6 people would have done the process the machine does for them, reducing human interaction by half. First the tulips are pulled up from their trays and placed on the conveyor belt, which cuts off the bulbs. Next each flower is x-rayed to determine length, this then tells the next part of the machine how much stem needs to be cut on each individual tulip. The machine then bunches the flowers in groups of 5-10 to create a bunch, it ties them and places them on the next conveyor belt to be wrapped.
